DRUMCHECK

Impossibledrums?

A DAW will play whatever you program. DRUMCHECK analyzes the part and shows what a drummer can’t play.

Open a MIDI drum part, or draw one. DRUMCHECK assigns each note to a hand or foot and marks conflicts in red. Edit the notes, see the result immediately and export MIDI.

What gets marked

  • Three hand-played notes at the same time.
  • A kick run too fast for one foot.
  • A roll too fast for the available hands.
  • A flam or drag while the other hand is busy.
  • An open and a closed hi-hat at the same moment.
  • A move around the kit with no time to get there.

The verdict

PLAYABLE

No conflicts found.

VERY HARD

Playable, but close to one of the model’s limits.

IMPOSSIBLE

Not with the current setup and limits.

Playable to … BPM

The fastest tempo with no impossible passage.

Current limits

The prototype models a right-handed drummer on a defined kit with a single kick pedal. It does not yet include rimshots, cross-sticks or half-open hi-hats. Results describe this model, not every drummer or setup. Desktop browser only.
